| W. (2008) | Marley Shelton, Elizabeth Banks, Jennifer Sipes "Both have scenes in the first 10 mins. Marley Shelton strong light-up, inhale-exhale scene. Banks' puff is barely worth watching" "[Banks] It is annoying when an actor/actress who plainly does not smoke tries to do so for a part. Banks' smoking in this movie was amateurish at best. I think she is a beautiful woman, but obviously not a smoker. Director should either hire someone who smokes, teach the actor/actress to smoke, or write the smoking out of the part." "[Banks] Her smoking is just awful, doesn't even look good holding." "[Sipes] one scene, hold, faint exhale, stub out" "I sort of disagree about Banks. She's not IRL, as your posters all seem to agree - but I enjoyed a nose exhale at 0:36. She's sitting in a car with Bush, takes what appears to be a genuine lungful, and then you can clearly see a stream of smoke from each nostril, finished off with a little puff from the mouth. It may be fake, but it's good fake." "Regarding the nose exhale by Elizabeth Banks, it was not from an inhaled puff. It was simply smoke that she pushed up into her sinuses from her mouth, never taking it into her lungs. I liked her portrayal of Laura Bush in every other way except for the smoking, as Laura is a longtime smoker who clearly has had difficulty shaking the habit, meaning that she is an inhaler."
