Wong's scenes are brief, almost cameos, and sometimes there's a bit of a wait in between them, but if you're fascinated by mysterious, exotically beautiful women smoking in a black and white, film noire-like atmosphere, it's well worth the wait." "[Dietrich is] the star and primary smoker in the film, and I'm certain that most or all the reviewer's comments apply to her, not Anna Mae Wong. Wong, I believe, has only one smoking scene, although I confess it's been over 20 years since I saw it"
