A film with a cast like this, set in the mid-60s - you'd think it'd be the smoking fetish mothalode, wouldn't you? It isn't. A few smoking scenes, including dangles, with Dench. Kate Hudson lights up, drags and exhales once (1:00), and it's not spectacular. And Kidman! Oh, what a loss. She borrows Day-Lewis's cigarette, takes one drag and produces an invisible exhale (1:17). That's it, and I'm never going to watch this boring film again."
