| Mi vida loca (1993) | Angel Aviles, Seidy Lopez, Nélida López, Magali Alvarado, Marlo Marron "this is the kind of movie that makes you shake your head, knowing it could have been one of the all time best if one of *us* had made it! Even so, it's worth finding; the semi- docudrama has lots of lovely Hispanic women smoking, including a four-minute scene in a coffee shop that was terrific, but should have been a masterpiece." "The scene starts at 35:56 (timing from mplayer on title 1 of the DVD). Seated counterclockwise around the table are Sad Girl (Angel Aviles), Whisper (Nélida López, the best smoker in the cast), Giggles (Marlo Marron, who does not smoke anywhere in this movie), La Blue Eyes (Magali Alvarado), and Mousie (Seidy Lopez). There are three camera angles: G (Giggles), ML (Mousie and La Blue Eyes), and WS (Whisper and Sad Girl). Sad Girl, Whisper, La Blue Eyes, and Mousie are holding throughout the scene. There 53 cuts in a three-minute scene which could have been a classic. As it is, a paradigm of how not to film a smoking scene are many cuts, so there is only one complete drag-exhale sequence." "Marron isn't mentioned above, but has a couple of great scenes and, in my opinion, is the best looking actress in the movie."
