| I'm Not There (2007) | Cate Blanchett, Michelle Williams, Charlotte Gainsbourg "Cate Blanchett smokes like a chimney throughout her gender-bending stint as a Bob Dylan-inspired character in this very strange movie. Her impression of Dylan is hit and miss, but she definitely studied his smoking mannerisms. Michelle Williams, as an Edie Sedgwick-inspired character, is seen briefly on the cover of a magazine dangling what appears to be a small cigar or brown cigarette. At one point, the cover becomes animated and she takes a nice drag and inhales slowly, then freezes back into position with cigarette dangling in her mouth. Definitely the smoking highlight of the movie, a must-see for Michelle Williams fans. Another unknown actress (Jennifer Rae Westley?) plays a girlfriend/groupie to Blanchett's character and has several decent smoking scenes. Overall, an abysmal movie but worth seeing for the smoking." "Gainsbourg, stylish as ever, gets a light in a restaurant in one scene and is seen exhaling while riding in a convertable in the next. Blanchett smokes copiously throughout, but seldom with a complete drag/inhale/exhale sequence. Also, she's portraying - and amazingly well, I might add -- Bob Dylan c. 1965, so I'm not sure it even counts as 'female.' There's a fair bit of ambient smoking in various scenes, as well."
