"Dark-haired Gietney plays a sad, stoic Polish girl who the more attractive blonde Sobczak teaches how to smoke in this black and white film set in some kind of home for troubled or criminal girls. Both girls seem to be in their mid-teens, and, after Gietner initially portrays her character as an inexperienced smoker, both inhale deeply and smoke well. A third attractive young girl is seen completing an exhale in a brief scene in a girls' bathroom, but the best scenes are a couple of nice close-ups of Sobczak's unconsciously seductive inhales and exhales. Spoiler Alert: Dark side fans might enjoy the subplot in which Gietner releases her repressed anger by torturing an apparently willing parapalegic older man, including burning him with her cigarette at one point and killing him in the film's climax."
