| "Wish Me Luck" (1987) | Kate Buffery, Suzanna Hamilton, Shelagh McLeod "The girls dropped behind enemy lines are warned not to smoke - it would be a give-away since cigarettes are in scarce supply and only available for men. Suzanna smokes in several scenes before departure, but only privately on arrival, with solid open-mouth inhales. Shelagh McLeod holds in a couple of scenes. We are kept in suspense with Kate. She is a non-smoker in the first series and does not take up the habit until about the fourth episode of the second. We are teased a little as we see two scenes with a pack of unfiltered Gauloises in front of her, then a third where she holds a cigarette close to her mouth but does not drag. We have to wait for the next episode to see a full-blooded thrust. Her fingers look nicotine-stained, but then she smokes IRL."
